Frederick Y Blanchard *

Frederick Blanchard is an emerging conductor and educator based in Florida, active across orchestral, choral, and percussion settings. He recently served as Director of Orchestras at University High School and Galaxy Middle School, Assistant Director of Percussion at Ocoee High School, and Music Director for Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages.

Blanchard was also recently accepted into the Varna International Music Academy as a student conductor, where he will begin advanced training in opera, musical theatre, and orchestral repertoire under faculty affiliated with major U.S. and international institutions. He will serve as a chorus master for a Varna International production of Stage to Screen, assist with the production of Carmen, and serve as conductor for the musical Little Women for Varna this summer.

He has also been accepted into the European American Musical Alliance (EAMA) as a conducting student under Mark Shapiro of The Cecilia Chorus of New York, Artistic Director of Cantori New York, and Principal Conductor of Marshall Opera

As an inspirational mentor and collaborator, Mr. Blanchard also serves as an adjudicator for the Florida Orchestra Association, supporting young performers statewide. His transformative leadership with a passion for audience engagement and innovative programming reflects a broad but strong foundation in music directing, percussive, and vocal studies.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Rollins College, where he studied conducting and music direction with Dr. John Sinclair, percussion with Jeremy Katalenic, composition and theory with Dr. Daniel Crozier, and voice with Stephen Mumbert.
